The Board Member Selection Committee of the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) has appointed five private sector representatives as members of the Board through an open and competitive selection process.

The newly appointed board members are Santosh Pokharel, Shrijana K.C., Pemba Sherpa, Khum Bahadur Subedi, and Dr. Shobhita Shrestha Dhakal.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board, the appointments were made following a comprehensive evaluation of applications received through an open call, in accordance with the Tourism Act and prevailing legal provisions governing the Board.
The open selection process attracted approximately 1,100 applications from across Nepal. Candidates were assessed based on their academic qualifications, professional experience, contributions to the tourism sector, leadership capabilities, and overall competence before the final five members were selected.
According to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, the transparent and merit-based selection process was introduced to ensure effective private sector representation in the Board. The appointments are expected to strengthen tourism policy formulation, destination promotion, investment facilitation, and public-private partnership initiatives.
The Nepal Tourism Board expressed confidence that the expertise, experience, and leadership of the newly appointed members will make a significant contribution to the sustainable development of Nepal's tourism industry, enhance international promotion efforts, expand collaboration with the private sector, and improve the overall competitiveness of the country's tourism sector.
